Body part: Triceps · Muscle group: Triceps (lateral, medial heads) · Equipment: high pulley, back support
Why this exercise
Cable pressdown that maintains tension at lockout with back support to prevent compensatory lean. Seated position with back support isolates the triceps more strictly than the standing version on Day 1.
Back support eliminates lean — prevents using body weight to assist the pressdown, isolating the triceps.
Tension at lockout 19/20 — cable maintains the 10:1 lever ratio where barbell movements go slack.
Lateral and medial head emphasis — pronated pressing motion preferentially recruits the lateral and medial heads, complementing exercise 6's long-head emphasis.
Placed last as the session closer, covering the remaining triceps heads.
